Additional Information
Welcome fellow Gunners,
My name is Ray 'Gus' Wilton, I joined H.Q. Bty ,4th Regt in february 1977 just before they moved from Catterick Garrison to Aldershot. I had just returned from Belfast with 32nd Regt who were disbanding Radar troop as they were converting to 'SWINGFIRE'. I was part of Sgt Derek Ball's A Sub Cymbeline Mortar Locating Radar.I left the Regiment in november 1978 and have great memories of my time spent there.

Its a well known fact the Royal Artillery are the best gunners in the world and 4th Regiment, in its various roles,is the best the R.A. has to offer. In a regiment where the guns are its 'colours' we can take pride in the consistant quality of our gun crews in all areas, either training or active service.
However there are soldiers that serve the regiment in other ways, the Chefs and Cooks,we need our grub......Clerks and Admin Staff, pay and travel warrents and Lad/Reme attachments to keep things rolling. Then there is Signals and Radar Troops, who supports the gun batteries. All play an important role and sometimes forgotten. So while we take our berets off to the magnificent gun crews that this unit has produced over many years i'd like to thanks the guys from all H.Q. Btys in all regiments ,especially 4th Regt.

This site is dedicated to anyone who has ever served with H.Q for any period of time. Just to remember the guys in the background.

The site is in its first stages and hopefully with your help we can make it grow, any ideas?

Lets here from the guys who have served  in H.Q. Bty
